Meat CSA from Bramble Hollow Farm
What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, a concept in which a farm offers a certain number of "shares" to the public. Interested consumers purchase a share and in return receive a box of seasonal products each week throughout the farming season. The relationship benefits both the farmer and the customer in many ways. For more information about the ins and outs of CSAs, please visit www.localharvest.org/CSA. They have an excellent description and history of the CSA.
A Meat CSA from Bramble Hollow Farm is a good option for you if you like the convenience of having healthy pastured meat at your fingertips but don't have the freezer space to purchase in bulk. By receiving a monthly share, you can enjoy a variety of healthy, clean meats throughout the farming season without having to make plans to visit the farm or farmer's market.
Bramble Hollow Farm's CSA specifics
Each CSA subscriber chooses from the following shares. Each share below lists the approximate number of pounds you will receive each month from each meat category. For example, under the dinner steaks and ribs category if choosing the Big Bite (full share) option you will receive three pounds of either pork chops, spareribs, or ham steaks, or some combination thereof. Your CSA share each month will be different and will include a sampling of all the products we have to offer over the six months. During the six months you will receive every item listed in each category at least once, probably more than once. The CSA subscription period begins in May and ends in November. You may choose which six months during that seven month period to receive your shares (one month considered a vacation month during which you will not receive a share).
